Podcasts = Fixed!
The podcasts are now back up and running! Those responsible for the loss of service have been harshly punished and have been banished to the coldest parts of Siberia to think about what they've done.
All the existing podcasts are back online - the backlog of new ones (including Red Eye Society, Floyd Soul and the Wolf, Ugly Megan & Simon Fagan) will be published shortly.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and hope you will continue to fly Irish Beats.
Update 21/06/2008: The shaggin' things are gone again. Can't publish any new ones at the moment. Pain in the proverbial. I shall endeavor to resolve this. All of the aforementioned podcasts are edited and ready to go - alas, they've nowhere to live! Grrrrrrrrrrr ........
Podcasts = Kaputt
This week we've been moving the Beat 102-103 websites to a new server and unfortunately, all the podcasts have disappeared in the process!! I have copies of them all so at the very worst, I'll upload them again. Anyway, none of the audio links are working at the moment, but hopefully we'll get it sorted soon.
Apologies to those who're dying for an Irish Beats fix ...
Interview with Fred
Fred (the band) describe their latest single 'Skyscrapers' as "so good it will rub your feet, drive you to the beach and then take you out to Wagamama's for dinner." They may not deliver on the dinner part, but the music is good .... damn good! Right-on ....
Interview with Giveamanakick
Steveamanakick + Giveamanakeith = Giveamanakick. The dynamic duo were in studio with Rob to discuss their new album 'Welcome to the Cusp.' We also learned that Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep will play them in the Hollywood movie of their lives (should one be made).
Murphys Live Report
A collection of audio bits and bobs from the Murphy's Live final which took place in Cork's Savoy Theatre on Thursday 15th May. Includes contributions from Angela Dorgan (FMC), Stuart Clarke (Hotpress), Paddy McPoland (General Legend) and of course, the bands themselves - The Bravado and winners Gorbachov.
Interview with The Bravado
Rob spoke with Stephen from Murphy's Live finalists The Bravado about the band.
Interview with Ian Whitty
The man with the houndstooth shirt himself, Ian Whitty was in studio to talk about playing in America, the scene in Cork and the release of his anticipated album.
Interview with Pugwash
Pugwash is the brainchild of the musical force of nature that is Thomas Walsh. Possibly the longest podcast we've had yet, but it's all hilarious, quality stuff (if a a little random). Frasier Crane, Cricket, The Beatles - they all get the Pugwash treatment. Oh yeah, we also discussed his new album '11 Modern Antiquities', but only briefly.
Interview with Gorbachov
Ian Fleming and Alan Hennessey from Murphy's Live finalists Gorbachov were in studio with Rob to discuss their forthcoming album, James Bond and their plans for world domination.
Interview with Robotnik
Robotnik is the moniker under which the young gentleman Chris Morrin plays music. And he plays it very well indeed! In this episode of Irish Beat's adventures, we discuss the relative merits of Sonic the Hedgehog over Mario the Plumber, radio stations on buses and of course, Robotnik's music. Contains a live track 'I Met Jesus in the Year 2027' which is pure craziness in musical form. Listen and go buy his album!
