presented by 3rd Issue of State Magazine
State have published their 3rd issue, which I had a read of over the weekend. I've been enjoying this magazine since it was released, although I still haven't made up my ind about its future. In the current issue, there's a very interesting interview with Daniel Lanois and another with cover-girl Gemma Hayes, including a special section on Gemma Hayes collaborator Kevin Shields (of My Bloody Valentine fame). Last month, they had a great article on Irish hip-hop and the legacy of Scary Eire.
My only gripe with State is that it can sometimes come across as being a bit holier-than-thou . But as Damien Dempsey says "I'm never gonna let, your negative vibes affect me ...."
Anyway, it's worth picking up next time you're passing a newsagents.
