Thumbs-Up Tunes (April)
If you're in the market for some new music, here are a few recommendations of recent Irish releases which you might consider for your purchase.
- Good Tiger - The Dynamics of Alcatraz. The best Irish album I've heard this year so far.
- Infomatics - Kill or Create. Irish hop-hop comes of age.
- The Jimmy Cake - Spectre & Crown. Wonderful instrumental madness.
- Mark Geary - Opium. Will restore your faith in the acoustic singer/songwriter genre.
- The Aftermath - Friendlier Up Here. Listen to the Aftermath and become their aural friends.
- David Turpin - The Sweet Used-To-Be. A beautiful downbeat French-feeling electro record.
Also a special mention to the Pocket Promise - Waving at Strangers EP. An unusual release in that there isn't a single as such. Top notch stuff though. Facing Down should be played on the radio all the time ... I'm doing it anyway!
